SAGINAW, Mich. - Volunteers are making Saginaw more beautiful by rolling up their sleeves and cleaning up again this year.
Early this morning people came out to Ojibway Island for the 2017 Beautification River Project.
Over 200 volunteers helped this year with clean-up of the Saginaw riverfront, bridges, and picking up litter.
Volunteer Katie Kelli says she was excited to join in for the first time this year.
"This is great it gets you out and involved with all the volunteers and gives us an opportunity to get our hands dirty and really feel like we accomplished something, I think that if anyone can come out next year just to keep this on your calendar and look at the events on Ojibway Island in the future coming up and just know that this is a great place to be and live and we're all proud of it,” said Kelli.
The beautification project has been around since 2002.
