UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. - People of all ages "ran" to help our American heroes Tuesday at Saginaw Valley State University for the annual 9/11 Heroes Run.
Not only does this race honor those who sacrificed their lives on September 11th, but the proceeds from this year's race are going to help our vets here at home who have made sacrifices of their own.
The president of the Bay Veterans Foundation says they're working on a project that, he hopes, will help our service men and women with their transition into civilian life.
"We thought about having a place where veterans can come and maybe learn some wood working skills, or just hang out, do some creative art types of things. productivity is therapy,” said Keith Markstrom of the veteran’s foundation.
He says they are hoping to have the center open sometime in 2019.
