SAGINAW, Mich. - The leader of a local group that helps abused and battered children, will soon help child abuse prevention on a statewide basis.

Next month, Suzanne Greenberg will become the head of the Michigan Children's Trust Fund board.

It helps prevent child abuse and neglect, and helps more than 6 million Michigan families.

Greenberg has spent 25 years helping Mid-Michigan children, as the CEO of the Great Lakes Bay Region CAN Council in Saginaw.

"The next person will be able to build on all of that and really continue to make a difference in the lives of children and families and that's my hope as well as the absolute purpose and mission of our board of directors and my staff. The staff here is amazing and they will continue to do that great work," said Greenberg.

Greenberg will start with the Children's Trust Fund on March 4 replacing Mike Foley, who's retiring.
