HEMLOCK, Mich. - It's blueberry picking season in mid-Michigan.
Good news is several farms are now starting to open their fields to the public.
We visited Backwoods Blueberries in Hemlock.
They've been in business for the past six years and will open this Friday.
They say the weather last year was perfect for growing the berries.
But the recent hot weather means they need extra hydration.
Still, the owners are excited to start to picking season.
"It's an easy and beneficial activity to do with your family. You can get 10 pounds in a matter of minutes when it's peak season and they're good for you,” said Backwoods owner Brigitte Hendershot.
Again, picking starts Friday at Backwoods, but there are several other blueberry farms across mid-Michigan.
