Grand Blanc Police confirm death of one of their officers

GRAND BLANC, Mich. – The Grand Blanc Police Department has confirmed the death of one of their officers.

The department issued a release stating 36-year-old Officer Tammy Bice died in her Genesee Township home around 3:40 a.m. November 29.

Genesee Township police reported the investigation of Bice’s death at her home on North Belsay Road near Hopkins early Wednesday morning.

Bice had worked for the department since 2015.

Grand Blanc police called Bice “an outstanding officer with an exceptional record,” noting her work outside of the department helping children and the animal rescue program Pets in Peril.

“Our condolences go out to Tammy’s family. We are honored and blessed to have had the opportunity to have worked with such a wonderful officer and person. She will be greatly missed,” the department said via statement.

Michigan State Police Crime Lab was brought to the scene of Bice's death while Genesee Township police remained the lead investigating agency.

A cause of death for Bice has not yet been released by Genesee Township police.
