FLINT, Mich. – Twelve men have been arrested and charged in Genesee County for attempting to engage in sex acts with children.
Sheriff Robert Pickell says the victims ranged in ages from 13 to 15.
Pickell says these men are charged with multiple felonies, including using a computer to commit a crime and child sexually abusive material.
Pickell says these arrests were thanks to the GHOST task force's latest phase of targeting human trafficking.
Among those arrested are a former law enforcement officer, the finance director of a charitable organization and an Army National Guard member, according to Pickell.
“The knowledge that predators are actively trying to contact children, even when our children are in their own homes is a chilling thought for every parent," said Pickell in a statement.
This is the second major bust the GHOST task force has made.
Last month, Pickell announced the arrest of 22 individuals for the same crimes.
