FLINT, Mich. - Animosity continues between Flint city council members.

Thursday two councilwomen asked to have Eric Mays removed as finance chair.

This comes after yesterday’s meeting with the engineering firm behind Flint’s pipe replacement.

Councilmembers Kate Fields and Eva Worthing said they wanted to ask the company how money is being spent.

They say Mays refused to let them speak, alleging sexism.

Mays says that’s not true.

“I think what they are doing is showing the citizens of the city of flint who they are, what they think and how they talk,” said Mays.

“He would break the rules. When we tried to speak he would interrupt us. He would give us the floor and then immediately Interrupt us. Couldn't even get two consecutive words out,” countered Fields.

Mays says Fields and Worthing are doing this to get a leadership position.

The two ladies are asking for voters to call the council president and demand mays be removed.
