SAGINAW, Mich. - Two seminarians from Saginaw are now deacons.

Stephan Blaxton and Adam Maher, both attended Sacred Heart Major Seminary in Detroit, as well as worked as restaurant servers and professionally as teachers.

They were ordained transitional deacons at the newly renovated Cathedral of Mary of the Assumption in Saginaw.

"It's giving people that reminder to put themselves in that experience of listening to God, be mindful of what God is saying, where God is calling them and you never know, sometimes something's been nudging some young man and he sees something like this and realizes I might have the call too,” said Terri Grierson of the Saginaw Diocese.

They both credit their parents with being examples of strong faith.
