FLINT, Mich. - Agencies around Genesee County had one wish come true this holiday season: The wish of public transportation.

Six agencies received bus passes courtesy of an emergency bus pass program.

The Mass Transportation Authority and United Way of Genesee County teamed up to help agencies assist their clients with transportation for shelter, access to fresh food, as well as employment and medical appointments.

"Sometimes it's just a little boost that people need that can make a dramatic improvement in their lives," said Genesee County United Way CEO Jamie Gaskin.

The campaign is a partnership between the MTA, Huntington Bank and the United Way.

About 13,000 passes will be given out during the year.
