Flint entrepreneur brings block party to Flint

FLINT, Mich. – One Flint businessman is making it his missing to bring community members together.

A community block party was held Friday on Austin Avenue and Martin Luther King Avenue on the city’s north side.

It was hosted by Ruth Boy Entertainment CEO Richard Jones.

In addition to bounce houses, free food and musical performances local businesses set up vendor booths.

Jones say he wants to introduce families to small business owners while inspiring unity.

“We are having a hard time in the city. we don’t have good water still. we have a lot of problems going on right now in the inner city and i believe the circulation of the community dollars should be within the community," said Jones.

He hopes that will inspire community members to build themselves up.

Organizers are hoping to do this again next year at Atwood Stadium.
