Crash involving semi shuts down US-23 in Fenton Township

JUPDATE: US-23 was reopened shortly before 5 p.m.

FENTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A crash involving a semi has shut down Southbound US-23 in Fenton Township.

It happened just after 2:30 p.m. Friday at the Thompson Road overpass.

According to Genesee County Undersheriff Chris Swanson, three vehicles in total were involved in the crash.

Three people suffered minor injuries and were taken to a local hospital for treatment.

US 23 was shut down due to a diesel spill of about 60 gallons as a result of the crash.

A clean up team was on site.

US-23 was reopened to traffic shortly before 5 p.m.
