Consumers Energy: Thousands without power across mid-Michigan

MID-MICHIGAN – Thousands of customers are without power across mid-Michigan due to the weekend ice storm, according to Consumers Energy.

The most customers affected are in the Flint, Owosso, Midland and Mt. Pleasant areas according the company’s outage map.

Estimated restoration times for most of the outages were Monday by 11:00 p.m.

Late last week Consumers began preparing crews ahead of the weekend forecast.

According to the company’s outage map, just under 40,000 customers were without power statewide as of Sunday afternoon.

Consumers reports that's down from 118,000 customers Saturday, with 82,000 customers having power restored by Sunday.
