This project is part of a bigger plan executed by the city- over the last 5 years, 26 playgrounds have been updated or built within the city.

"As we look to make Flint a place to live, work and raise families, playgrounds are an important part of that. Children need spaces to go when they are outside and opportunities to be around peers outside of a school setting. Active children are healthy children and playgrounds help them to become well adjusted in society, teaching them basic lessons such as sharing and conflict resolution. Flint is a beautiful city, we are going to make sure that every resident, big or small, can happily call it home," said Flint Mayor Karen Weaver.

Help us to celebrate the ribbon cutting of these newest playgrounds. FREE pizza will be served at 12:30pm.

Thursday, July 25 at Windiate Park located southeast of Saginaw and Atherton near the Diplomat Pharmacy Headquarters.

Saturday, July 27th at Bassett Park located at 2251 Forest Hill Ave, Flint, MI 48504.

The #FlintKidsPlay Project would not be possible without the following community partners:

Make an Impact Foundation

About Make an Impact:

The Make An Impact Foundation (MAIF) brings the voices of underprivileged children into the community by creating a project platform for the communities it serves. They want to create a place where all kids have equal opportunity and ability to play freely without barriers to growth, dreams and imagination.

As part of its mission, the Make An Impact Foundation and its partners, Miracle Recreation and Sinclair Broadcast Group, one of the nation’s largest and most diversified television broadcasting companies, are working to reverse the decline of outdoor play in America. This crisis of play has a negative impact on the physical, emotional and social wellbeing of kids, families and communities throughout the nation.

Through this partnership, our goal is to bring local sponsors and the community together to raise funds to build new playgrounds that will bring back the benefits of play and strengthen communities across America.
