Katie Fisher, a neighbor of Black, said he went above and beyond, hand-delivering packages to sick neighbors and helping dig cars out of the snow in the winter.
"This is also the year where deliveries went through the roof, and he owned it," Fisher said. "He was excited. He loves his job, and it shows and it makes us all just want to be a little happier."
Black said he loved driving his truck and serving his community.
"It's incredible," he said. "I've grown up with the neighborhood and it is just wonderful. You can't beat my job, you can't beat it. I love the nature of the job."
