HOLLY, Mich. – A local company is hoping people won’t forget military veterans this holiday season.

Matrix Expedited Services is teaming up with Wreaths Across America to place wreaths on the gravestones of military veterans at the Great Lakes National Cemetery near Holly.

Wreaths Across America started in 1992 by Morrill Worchester, the owner of a wreath company who dedicated his surplus of wreaths to honor and remember fallen heroes buried at Arlington National Cemetery near Washington, DC. Since that time, the movement has grown to more than 1400 locations across the United States. Thousands of volunteers lay more than a half million wreaths each year on December 15th.

Matrix hopes to raise enough money to pay for wreaths to cover 30,000 burial sites at Great Lakes National Cemetery. Organizers say it costs $15 to sponsor a wreath.
