Students are headed back to school, and safety is a big concern.
Governor Gretchen Whitmer approved creating the Office of School Safety in December 2018 to help schools stay safer.
According to the legislation, schools are supposed to have a liaison to work with the office.
And schools are supposed to provide reports to Michigan State Police if incidents occur, but the office has yet to receive funding.
